Welcoming words
The Conseil pour la protection des malades (CPM) began its 45th year of existence this year and just like all of you on committees and other occupations, it always stay busy. When the 50th anniversary comes, we will have to celebrate.
Historique
Claude a grandi à Valleyfield puis à Pointe-Claire au Québec avec tout l’amour que ses parents, une infirmière et un homme d’affaires, ont pu lui donner, malgré son handicap, sa maladie. La méningite le frappa à l’âge de 7 ans et, sorti d’un coma profond quelques semaines plus tard, il ne marcha plus du reste de sa vie. Il aurait dit à sa mère qu’il n’était pas né pour marcher puisque, quelque part, se sentant appelé à aider les personnes handicapées, il ne se voyait pas dans un autre état que celui qui l’affligeait pourtant.

The corporation…
The Conseil pour la protection des malades (CPM) is an independent non-profitable organization, founded by the late Claude Brunet in 1974. The purpose of the CPM is to defend and promote the rights of users to receive dignified and adequate health care; regardless of their illness, disability, sociocultural background, religion or sexual orientation.
